Details of the requirements for each level are available by downloading the course syllabi from the ICU Website. In most cases there are four significant requirements for those wishing to be assessed for any given Coach qualification.
- Personal Paddling Proficiency - graphical chart
- First Aid Qualification - first aid page
- Attendance at the appropriate training course
- Logging of a required number of hours coaching under supervision of a registered Coach
After successfully sitting an assessment candidates are added to the database of Coaches held by the ICU and are required to regsiter as a member of the TDU each year to maintain an active status on the system.
